CallmeIsrael, more popularly known as “Izzy”, is a Chicago, Alternative Hip Hop artist & songwriter known for his cinematic visuals & over the top creativity and above all great music. Devin Toliver, who performs as CallmeIsrael was born on the south side of Chicago, September 24th 1990. Aside from spending time with his cousins, Izzy spent most of his time alone and turned to poetry as a way to express the internal struggles he’s dealt with coming up not just as a Hebrew boy from Chicago but also from his own family. Expressed through his lyrical masterpieces Callmeisrael takes us through the lends of his own personal experiences from a multi-perspective experience while maintaining that commercial hip hop essence at its roots. With musical influences like Outkast, 2PAC, Slick Rick, Chris Brown, Usher, Brandy and many more its no wonder why he carries the title “Alternative”. Having moved to Los Angeles in 2014 following is passion of music, it wasn’t long before he realized “making it” was not the same reasons he believes God led him to make that leap of faith.
